PostSubject: Tournament Rules and Regulations   Mon Jul 23, 2007 11:50 pm

Tournaments are the main means of competitive battles and completing the goal of Pokemon Battle Masquerade. As they are such a large factor, several general rules which apply to ALL tournaments have been created to help them run more smoothly, and to help to make this site remain a fun environment.

Remember that each individual tournament will have its own more specific rules which also have to be followed.

A) Conduct- During tournaments, all competitors will be expected to act accordingly and not cause any trouble to other members. The tournament supervisors do not want to waste time with people who act out in any of the following ways during tournaments:

1) Putting down or making fun of your opponent, because they may not have performed as well as you, is strictly forbidden and will result in punishment upon the first offense. The punishment will vary depending on the severity of the offense.

2) Being a sore loser, flaming your opponent, or acting childish if you lose a match. On the first offense you will receive a warning from the tournament supervisor, offenses after that will result in disqualification and eventual ban from the site altogether.

3) Flaming or disrespecting the tournament supervisor, because of any decision they make (Unless you can prove your point), will result in instant disqualification from the tournament.

B) Honour- Being as there is no way for us to monitor the battles during tournaments, being honest in the results of a match is critical from all members. Losing a battle is part of creating new strategies and becoming a better trainer, and isn't anything to be shameful of.

1) Reporting Match Results: Both the winner and the loser in a fight should report the results immediately after the completion of the match. If only one competitor sends in the results within a seven minute period, then it is assumed that the other competitor has agreed with these results. The form for reporting the results of a match is as follows:
Name:
Opponent:
Results:
Additional Comments:
2) Lying will have very severe consequences for people found doing it during tournaments. If caught lying, you will be immediately disqualified from the tournament. If caught lying multiple times, you will be completely banned from tournaments on this site. Under the very unlikely situation in which multiple members are caught lying, a new system will come into effect which I can tell no one will like.

C) Have a fun time during the tournament and keep it fun for all members...Personally my favourite rule ;)

That is all for now, and if anything has to change with the rules then it will be immediately added.

Sincerely,
Azelf
